SGWASA Remains On Target with PFAS Mitigation Plans and Pilot Testing

I-85 SSI Project - Planned Evening Coating Work in East Middleton Area
Haren Construction is scheduled to perform coating work on wastewater manholes in the East Middleton area tonight and tomorrow night. This work is part of ongoing Construction Package 1 improvements and supports the long-term protection, durability, and performance of wastewater infrastructure serving the area.

Funding Award Confirmed to support SGWASA’s PFAS Treatment Project Construction
The South Granville Water & Sewer Authority has received a $10,658,880 SWIA funding award from the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Water Infrastructure. The award will be used for SGWASA’s PFAS mitigation water treatment facility construction project.

CP1 & CP2 Project Progress
As the I-85 Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project continues to progress, work remains focused on completing foundation duties for the valve and electrical building and continuing installation of the pressurized sewer piping toward the flow meter vault, with the next phase transitioning into electrical, plumbing, and mechanical work and preparation for the concrete slab.

Creedmoor - Water Meter Replacement Program
The South Granville Water & Sewer Authority is partnering with Vanguard Utility Service Inc. to complete a systemwide meter replacement initiative within the City of Creedmoor. This multi-phase project is expected to take approximately eight months and will replace older-style water meters at eligible service locations.
The project is scheduled to begin January 20th – 23rd , daily during the hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM on Ferbow Street in Creedmoor, NC.

October I-85 SSI Progress Meeting
Haren Construction representatives reported completing concrete and rebar installations at both the Joe Peed and East Middleton Lift Stations wet well structures. Specifically, the lower influent channel walls and the lower and upper wet well walls were completed at the Joe Peed Lift Station.
