Lake Holt Levels Continue to Improve as Voluntary Conservation Remains in Place
Recent rainfall and evolving weather conditions have supported Lake Holt levels rising approximately two feet, which serves as an encouraging improvement for the Granville County community’s water supply.

Rescind Notice
Due to emergency water main repair work performed by SGWASA utility crews on July 31, 2026, on North Main Street in Creedmoor, NC, affected water customers experienced a temporary loss of pressure within the water distribution system.
Based on the laboratory analysis of the water samples collected by SGWASA following the water main break repairs, customers are hereby notified that the System Pressure Advisory is no longer in effect.

System Pressure Advisory
Utility crews conducted an emergency water main repair reported near for an 8" water main break on West E Street. SGWASA water customers experienced a period of no pressure in the water distribution system. Due to this event, a water system pressure advisory is in effect until further notice.

I-85 SSI Project - Central Avenue Re-opens
The Central Avenue road closure is scheduled to end by close of business today, ahead of the original estimated completion date of August 10th, 2026.

I-85 SSI Project Paving + Detour Updates
Autry crews are continuing work on the East Lyon Station Road crossing, with plans to complete the crossing work by the end of Wednesday, July 8th. Paving is expected to follow on Thursday, July 9th.

Summer Burnout Program
Beginning July 1, 2026 through August 3, 2026, SGWASA will conduct its annual Water System Maintenance Program, including system flushing throughout the water distribution system. This proactive maintenance helps maintain high water quality and ensures continued compliance with state and federal drinking water standards. SGWASA Remains on Target with PFAS Mitigation Plans
Butner, NC - On May 18, 2026, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency proposed maintaining the current federal drinking water standards for PFOA and PFOS while allowing eligible drinking water systems to request up to two additional years, through 2031, to meet enforceable compliance limits associated with the broader PFAS chemical class. Holiday Notice: Memorial Day Closure
In honor of Memorial Day, the South Granville Water & Sewer Authority (SGWASA) offices and Welcome Center will be closed on Monday, May 26th, 2026.
Office operations will resume on Tuesday, May 27th, 2026.
