Unidirectional Flushing Program Began in Golden Pond

Butner, NC - The South Granville Water and Sewer Authority (SGWASA) began scheduled unidirectional flushing activities today, September 22, 2026, within the Golden Pond subdivision in Creedmoor.

The Unidirectional Flushing Program is a planned water-system maintenance initiative that uses a controlled sequence of valve and hydrant operations to direct water through selected sections of the distribution system at increased velocities. This process helps remove accumulated sediment from water mains and supports continued water quality and system performance.

Flushing within Golden Pond is scheduled to continue through Wednesday, September 23. As work progresses through the subdivision, customers in or near active flushing areas may temporarily experience changes in water pressure or water appearance.

If temporary discoloration occurs, customers are encouraged to allow cold water to run until it becomes clear before completing laundry or other activities that may be affected.

If additional time is required to complete the planned flushing sequence, September 29, October 6, and October 13 have been reserved as contingency dates. Work on those dates will occur only as needed.
