The South Granville Water & Sewer Authority will host SGWASA Connect: Community Information Expo on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 5:00–7:30 PM at Butner Town Hall, 415 Central Avenue in Butner.

The water service interruption is anticipated from approximately 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM. Customers within the affected area are encouraged to plan accordingly and have sufficient water available for essential needs during the interruption.

Crews anticipate completing the repair without interrupting water service. However, a temporary service interruption may be necessary for customers in the immediate area identified on the accompanying map. Customers should prepare for this possibility while work is underway.

August Board Meeting Advances Financial, Infrastructure and Customer Priorities

SGWASA’s Stage 1 voluntary water conservation measures are no longer in effect.

South Granville Water and Sewer Authority continues to advance its long-term response to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, commonly known as PFAS, through treatment design, pilot testing, permitting coordination, and strategic funding efforts.

SGWASA’s wastewater treatment plant has a design capacity of 5.5 million gallons per day, while the collection system includes approximately 154 miles of sewer piping and 48 wastewater pumping stations. Each pumping station is equipped with standby power and a monitoring system designed to track operating conditions and generator status.

Access along East Middleton Road will be maintained. Next week, crews will cross Joe Peed Road with the 24” gravity sewer, 8” waterline, and proposed 24” force main. Joe Peed Road will be closed between S. Durham Avenue and WB Clark Road, July 27th through July 30th, with detours in place during closure.
