SGWASA utility crews will temporarily interrupt water service to Piedmont Apartments Buildings P and Q, located at 600 E. C Street, while completing a necessary repair to a leaking water meter.

Update 5:23 PM: SGWASA utility crews have completed repairs to the emergency 2-inch water main break, and water service has been restored to customers in the affected area, including Coley Road, Castle Rock Drive, Running Brook Drive, Saratoga Street, and Whitney Lanes.

The South Granville Water & Sewer Authority will host SGWASA Connect: Community Information Expo on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 5:00–7:30 PM at Butner Town Hall, 415 Central Avenue in Butner.

The water service interruption is anticipated from approximately 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM. Customers within the affected area are encouraged to plan accordingly and have sufficient water available for essential needs during the interruption.

The Golden Pond Unidirectional Flushing Program pilot has been successfully completed. Thank you to customers for your patience and cooperation as crews carried out this important water system maintenance initiative.

Construction on the I-85 Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project (I-85 SSI) is advancing as crews begin 24-hour tunneling operations associated with the railroad bore, beginning September 14, 2026.

Repairs to the water main near East C Street and 20th Street have been completed using a 12-inch wraparound repair clamp. Water service remained available throughout the repair, and customers did not experience an interruption.

The I-85 SSI Project is moving into the next sequence of field activity as crews transition from Railroad Avenue toward A Street and prepare for upcoming work near 8th and C streets.

Butner, NC - Water service is temporarily interrupted along the 300 block of 8th Street while crews repair a corporation stop that was snagged during construction activity. Crews are working to complete the repair and restore service as quickly as possible. An update will be provided once water service has been restored.

Butner, NC - SGWASA will resume the Unidirectional Flushing Program plans within Creedmoor's Golden Pond community on Tuesday, September 22, and Wednesday, September 23, 2026.

Pipeline construction associated with the I-85 Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026, along 11th Street between West B Street and West C Street. Work is expected to continue for approximately four to six weeks, with access limited to local traffic during active construction.

SGWASA received a report of a significant water main break in the 400 block of North Main Street in Creedmoor, NC.

Access along East Middleton Road will be maintained. Next week, crews will cross Joe Peed Road with the 24” gravity sewer, 8” waterline, and proposed 24” force main. Joe Peed Road will be closed between S. Durham Avenue and WB Clark Road, July 27th through July 30th, with detours in place during closure.
