Lake Holt Levels Continue to Improve as Voluntary Conservation Remains in Place

Butner, NC - Recent rainfall and evolving weather conditions have supported Lake Holt levels rising approximately two feet, which serves as an encouraging improvement for the Granville County community’s water supply.
SGWASA continues to review reservoir levels each week to evaluate changing conditions and keep customers informed. Although the lake has gained water, it remains less than two feet above the level that prompted Stage 1 voluntary water conservation measures. For this reason, customers are encouraged to continue limiting nonessential water use while recovery continues.
Every conservation effort helps. Simple actions such as reducing outdoor watering, repairing household leaks, running full loads of laundry and dishes, and turning off water when it is not needed can collectively make a meaningful difference.
SGWASA will also continue to defer its Unidirectional Flushing Program, a planned water-main maintenance activity, until Lake Holt reaches a more sustainable level above the Stage 1 threshold. This decision helps preserve the available water supply while maintaining essential services for customers.
