In the next phase of the project, the contractor will perform three new waterline connections to the existing mainline along Highway 56.Â
The first tie-in is scheduled for 7:00 AM on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. This portion of the work, indicated in red on the associated map or notice, may result in a temporary drop in water pressure for some customers in the surrounding area.Â

At the May 20th progress meeting, CDM Smith representative Bill Mason led with team updates and formally introduced Greg Hoch as the new Resident Project Representative (RPR) for Construction Package 1 (CP1) of the I-85 Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project. Jackie Jackson, the initial RPR for CP1, will transition to support Construction Package 2 (CP2) as the RPR once that phase begins.

Managing Phosphorus for Better Water Quality
SGWASA has worked collaboratively with Enviromix over the past several years to evaluate and improve key water and wastewater treatment technologies. This partnership included a case study at the SGWASA Wastewater Treatment Plant that focused on Enhanced Biological Phosphorus Removal (EBPR). This process has been shown to target phosphorus more efficiently.
