Annual System Performance Report Now Available

Butner, NC - South Granville Water and Sewer Authority’s Annual System Performance Report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, is now available for public review. The report provides an overview of SGWASA’s wastewater treatment and collection systems, summarizes regulatory performance, and outlines activities related to industrial pretreatment and fats, oils and grease prevention.


SGWASA’s wastewater treatment plant has a design capacity of 5.5 million gallons per day, while the collection system includes approximately 154 miles of sewer piping and 48 wastewater pumping stations. Each pumping station is equipped with standby power and a monitoring system designed to track operating conditions and generator status.


System Performance Report Details

During the reporting period, the system recorded no illegal bypasses of treatment facilities. The report identifies one failed Whole Effluent Toxicity test and three sanitary sewer overflows with a combined estimated volume of 2,640 gallons.


SGWASA’s Industrial Pretreatment Program currently monitors two industrial users and provides guidance to help customers prevent grease-related sewer blockages and overflows.
