I-85 SSI Project TWLA : Sewer Installation and Traffic Impacts
Over the next two weeks, I-85 Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project activity will take place along Joe Peed Road, West Middleton Drive, East Lyon Station Road, A Street, and 8th Street. Crews will advance major sewer infrastructure work, including gravity sewer installation, combined force main installation, microtunnel-related work, utility potholing, driveway crossing coordination, and controlled blasting operations.

SGWASA Remains on Target with PFAS Mitigation Plans
Butner, NC - On May 18, 2026, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency proposed maintaining the current federal drinking water standards for PFOA and PFOS while allowing eligible drinking water systems to request up to two additional years, through 2031, to meet enforceable compliance limits associated with the broader PFAS chemical class. Fiscal Year 2026/2027 Budget Adopted
The FY26/27Budget reflects SGWASA’s continued focus on financial stewardship, service reliability, transparency, and organizational readiness. The budget is balanced and supports the Authority’s ability to manage rising operational costs, insurance increases, and major long-term infrastructure needs without additional customer impact.

Hydrant Installed - Water Service Restored
SGWASA utility crews are scheduled to replace a fire hydrant near West C Street and 5th Street on Thursday, May 14, 2026. Crews will begin preparing the work area in advance of the work. The temporary water service interruption begins at approximately 10:00 AM.

No Mandatory Water Restrictions in Effect for Lake Holt Water Supply
Stage 1 Voluntary Conservation measures are not triggered unless usable water storage falls below 60 percent. Current conditions remain well above that threshold and indicate a stable water supply.

Creedmoor - Water Meter Replacement Program
The South Granville Water & Sewer Authority is partnering with Vanguard Utility Service Inc. to complete a systemwide meter replacement initiative within the City of Creedmoor. This multi-phase project is expected to take approximately eight months and will replace older-style water meters at eligible service locations.
The project is scheduled to begin January 20th – 23rd , daily during the hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM on Ferbow Street in Creedmoor, NC.

Valve Repair In Progress
Utility crews will conduct a valve installation project on East Lyon Station Road near the Green Road intersection beginning at 8:00 am. During this process, water service will be temporarily interrupted for the following areas:
Wynngate and Massimo housing developments
East Lyon Station Road from Gate 2 Road to just before East Middleton Drive
