Filter Media Presentation Scheduled for the October Board Meeting
Butner, NC - SGWASA provided a brief update on the Filter Media Replacement Program during the September 2026 Special Board Meeting, highlighting early performance results following completion of the program.
The Filter Media Replacement Program has been completed across all five filters. According to SGWASA’s August 2026 Executive Director’s Monthly Project Update Report, performance trends following completion include longer filter run times, lower turbidity and reduced ferric usage.
These indicators provide an initial measure of how the completed filter improvements are performing within the water treatment process. Longer filter run times reflect extended operating periods between filter cycles, while lower turbidity reported reflects improved clarity of treated water. Reduced ferric usage was noted, indicating a reduction in the amount of ferric treatment chemical being used during operations.
SGWASA will continue performance monitoring; and expects to provide additional information on the Filter Media Replacement Program and its performance results during the October 2026 Board Meeting.
