Joe Peed Road Closure and Pipeline Installation

Update July 31, 2026:
Joe Peed Road has reopened to commuter traffic following the completion of utility crossings and permanent pavement restoration between U.S. Highway 15 and W.B. Clark Road.
Update July 28, 2026: Joe Peed Road will remain closed through Thursday, July 30, 2026, between U.S. Highway 15 and W.B. Clark Road while crews complete multiple utility crossings and permanent pavement restoration. Joe Peed Road between W.B. Clark Road and E. Lyon Station Road will remain open throughout the week.
Butner, NC - This week, JF Wilkerson will continue installation of the 24” gravity sewer and 8” waterline toward the existing Joe Peed station. Work will also continue on the combined 24” force main crossing at East Middleton Road, with completion planned by Thursday. Traffic may be periodically impacted along East Middleton Road, Joe Peed Road, and East Lyon Station Road, with flagging used as necessary. Access along East Middleton Road will be maintained.
Next week, crews will cross Joe Peed Road with the 24” gravity sewer, 8” waterline, and proposed 24” force main. Joe Peed Road will be closed between S. Durham Avenue and WB Clark Road, July 27th through July 30th, with detours in place during closure.
