I-85 SSI Project Update: Will Suitt Road Opened
Construction teams reported that the I-85 SSI Project closure near Will Suitt Road has ended, and the road has reopened for normal travel.

Funding Award Confirmed to support SGWASA’s PFAS Treatment Project Construction
The South Granville Water & Sewer Authority has received a $10,658,880 SWIA funding award from the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Water Infrastructure. The award will be used for SGWASA’s PFAS mitigation water treatment facility construction project.

PFAS Intent to Fund Notice
In March 2026, SGWASA received notice that the North Carolina State Water Infrastructure Authority approved $10,658,880 in additional funding assistance for SGWASA’s drinking water projects. The award is expected to include a combination of loan and grant funding administered through the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Water Infrastructure.

April 27th Will Suitt Road Closure
A closure on Will Suitt Road is scheduled to beginning Monday, April 27, 2026, as Construction Package 2 (CP-2) of the I-85 SSI Project progress. The closure is expected to begin that morning around 7:00 am and remain in place through the posted work period.

Traffic Advisory: Planned Closure at Will Suitt Road and Longwood
South Granville Water and Sewer Authority advises the public that a planned shutdown of Will Suitt Road at Longwood Drive in Creedmoor, NC is scheduled from April 27th through May 1st.

Inclement Weather Closure
Due to today’s inclement weather forecast, SGWASA’s Welcome Center and Administrative Offices will close at 12:00 pm and are expected to reopen Tuesday morning during normal business hours.
To support customers impacted by the early closure, SGWASA will extend today’s deadline for delinquent account payments to avoid utility cutoff. Rather than the original deadline of 5:00 pm today, the new deadline will be 5:00 pm on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

Road Closure
Crews will continue pump station and pipeline work in the East Middleton area while sewer main installation and site restoration continue on CP-2. Controlled blasting is currently in progress within the work zone, with another session scheduled for 3:00 pm.
