I-85 SSI Project TWLA : Sewer Installation and Traffic Impacts

Butner NC - Over the next two weeks, I-85 Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project activity will take place along Joe Peed Road, West Middleton Drive, East Lyon Station Road, A Street, and 8th Street. Crews will advance major sewer infrastructure work, including gravity sewer installation, combined force main installation, microtunnel-related work, utility potholing, driveway crossing coordination, and controlled blasting operations.
Crews will proceed with installation of the 24-inch gravity sewer line near Joe Peed Road and the 24-inch combined force main along West Middleton Drive toward East Lyon Station Road. Traffic flagging may be used near Joe Peed Road and along West Middleton Drive to support equipment movement, material deliveries, utility potholing, and driveway crossing work. Any driveway crossing impacts will be coordinated with affected property owners.
Park crews will advance installation work from the microtunnel launching pit toward the railroad, while Carolina Drilling performs blasting activities on A Street. Traffic impacts are anticipated, including a partial closure on 8th Street and a full closure on A Street. Park is coordinating with Hanes Geo regarding the A Street closure.
No planned water or sewer service interruptions are anticipated for either construction package at this time.
