Butner, NC - The South Granville Water and Sewer Authority Board of Directors adopted the Fiscal Year 2026–2027 Budget during its May 2026 Board of Directors meeting, establishing SGWASA’s operating framework for July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. The adopted budget maintains existing customer water and sewer rates while supporting essential operations, debt service obligations, infrastructure maintenance, and long-term financial planning.

The Budget reflects SGWASA’s continued focus on financial stewardship, service reliability, transparency, and organizational readiness. The budget is balanced and supports the Authority’s ability to manage rising operational costs, insurance increases, and major long-term infrastructure needs without additional customer impact.

There is no increase in current water or sewer rates for customers.

Customer fee adjustments related to delinquent account handling were adopted for Fiscal Year 2026–2027. The late payment rate remains 1.5 percent for qualifying past-due balances; however, the minimum late payment fee increases from $10 to $15. The nonpayment fee increases from $75 to $100 and applies to accounts that reach nonpayment status in accordance with SGWASA’s established billing and delinquency process.

Customers who pay their bills by the established due date will not be affected by these delinquency-related fee adjustments. SGWASA encourages customers to utilized eBilling and other online account access features by selecting “Pay My Bill” from the header of the official SGWASA website (sgwasa.org).

Planning Responsibly for Future Need

The adopted FY26/27 Budget positions SGWASA to continue planning for future regulatory and infrastructure priorities, including long-term capital investment needs and advanced treatment planning related to PFAS.

While the adopted budget maintains current customer rates for the upcoming fiscal year, SGWASA will continue evaluating future funding strategies to responsibly support system reliability, compliance requirements, and long-term affordability.
