Butner, NC . August 15, 2025 - SGWASA crews are currently responding to an emergency service request to repair damage caused by private construction to a water main near 2652 Old Highway 75 in Butner, NC.

For the safety of the repair process and to ensure the integrity of the water system, water service has been temporarily shut off for customers in the affected area. Crews are working diligently to restore service as quickly as possible while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.

SGWASA understands that any interruption in water service can be inconvenient, and we appreciate the patience and cooperation of the customers in the repair area during this time. Service will be restored immediately upon successful repair, and water quality will be verified before resuming normal operations.

What You Can Do During the Outage:

  • Keep taps turned off to avoid air entering household plumbing.

  • Avoid using water appliances until service is restored.

  • Prepare for possible brief water discoloration after service resumes; running cold water for a few minutes can help clear the lines.

SGWASA remains committed to providing safe, reliable water service and to responding promptly to incidents that may impact our customers. We thank you for your understanding and support.
