The South Granville Water and Sewer Authority released the proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2025–2026. The full document is available for public review via the budget page.
This year’s proposed budget includes no increase to water or sewer rates, marking a pause in adjustments following a period of rate changes over the past several years. SGWASA plans to utilize its existing fund balance to support essential operations, invest in critical equipment upgrades, and implement recommendations from the recent pay and classification study.
Fiscal Year 2025-2026's proposed budget represents a conscious effort to reduce pressure on customers, while maintaining the Authority's commitment to reliable service and long-term infrastructure improvements.
Key initiatives in the proposed budget include:
PFAS Mitigation Testing
SGWASA continues pilot testing treatment technologies to address PFAS contaminants in our drinking water supply—part of a broader commitment to public health and regulatory compliance.

To Note: SGWASA implemented rate increases on July 1, 2021 and July 1, 2022, followed by a shift to a new rate model on July 1, 2023. While some higher-usage customers experienced increases under the new structure, many low-usage residential customers saw a decrease in their monthly bills. The last fiscal year in which no rate changes occurred at all was Fiscal Year 2022, when rates remained the same from the prior year.
