South Granville Water and Sewer Authority continues to advance major sanitary sewer improvements along the I-85 corridor, with current work moving farther west of the interstate and toward the Will Suitt Road area. This phase of construction remains focused on long-term system reliability while crews work through active installation areas, site restoration, and preparation for upcoming underground activity.

Current field activity includes pipe installation extending from the launch pit toward Will Suitt Road, restoration work at 8th Street, and preparation for additional blasting operations between I-85 and the gas line crossing west of the interstate. At this time, no service interruptions are anticipated.

Project teams are also continuing coordination for future phases of work, including additional utility-area preparation and follow-up activities needed to keep construction moving safely and efficiently. As work progresses, SGWASA will continue sharing updates that help residents understand where crews are active, what traffic changes to expect, and how the work supports critical wastewater infrastructure improvements for the community.

Later in the schedule, residents may also see select nighttime work tied to specialized coating operations that require specific temperature conditions. Additional notice should be provided ahead of that activity once scheduling is confirmed.

Traffic Detour

A planned shutdown of Will Suitt Road at Longwood is expected from April 27th through May 1st. Motorists are asked to plan ahead for alternate routes.
