Update:
Crews have completed repairs for the water main break on West E Street in Butner, North Carolina. Water service has been restored to all affected customers.
As standard precaution, a system pressure advisory is now in effect for customers in the impacted area. SGWASA recommends that customers boil water intended for human consumption (including drinking, brushing teeth, and food preparation) for the timeframe identified in the advisory.

SGWASA will provide an update once water quality sampling confirms that the advisory may be lifted.
November 2, 2025. Butner, NC - Utility crews are responding to reports of a water main break near 304 W. E Street in Butner, North Carolina. Residents along West E Street and within the repair area may currently experience low or no water pressure as repair efforts are underway.
SGWASA’s Utility Team is actively assessing the situation and working to restore normal service as quickly and safely as possible. Updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
