Project Review Underway Following Sole Bid Submission

Updated August 19: Park Construction submitted the sole proposal, which exceeded the project budget. SGWASA and CDM Smith are now conducting value engineering to reduce costs and evaluate whether parts of the North Interceptor can be deferred.
A contract recommendation is anticipated at the September/October 2025 Board meeting.
Butner, NC. June 13, 2025 - SGWASA hosted the scheduled bid opening of Construction Package 2 for the I-85 Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project on Thursday, June 12th.
One bid was received and opened. SGWASA, in coordination with CDM Smith, is currently conducting a comprehensive evaluation of the bid package and the associated design documents.
This process will be carried out over the coming weeks, with the intent of presenting a recommendation to the SGWASA Board of Directors at the earliest opportunity.
SGWASA remains committed to advancing this critical infrastructure investment in a fiscally responsible manner.
