Butner, NC. June 4, 2025 - Controlled blasting is scheduled for June 9th and 10th at the East Middleton Pump Station construction site, as part of the I-85 Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project.
The controlled blasting process is required to safely and efficiently remove subsurface rock to allow for the installation of new sewer infrastructure. Residents near the site may experience increased noise activity, similar to a popping sound, and light vibrations. This short process will be closely monitored to ensure safety and minimize disruption.
The contractor, Carolina Drilling, will conduct all blasting activities in full compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
