The recent SGWASA Board meeting opened with the administration of the Oath of Office for Granville County Commissioner Russ May, who was appointed to fill the unexpired term of Commissioner Tim Karan. The Board welcomed Commissioner May as he steps into this role, bringing a wealth of knowledge, experience, and a distinguished record of service to both his country and community.
Infrastructure and System Investments
The Board approved a contract with Vision NC, LLC for sanitary sewer cleaning and televising. This program is not only a regulatory requirement under SGWASA’s DEQ operating permit but also a cornerstone of proactive system maintenance.
By routinely inspecting 10% of the system annually, SGWASA enhances its
ability to closely monitor systems and safeguard long-term service reliability.
SGWASA's Board adopted a Resolution authorizing submission of an LGC application for USDA bond issuance. These funds, combined with an awarded ARPA grant, will advance the I-85 Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project.
Financial Stewardship
The Board approved Budget Amendment #4, aligning resources to support critical functions, including renewal of the Authority’s work order management software licenses, funding for application fees, and capital support for sewer pipeline inspection services.
Collectively, these adjustments underscore SGWASA’s disciplined approach to aligning resources with operational and capital priorities.
