The South Granville Water and Sewer Authority is advancing a critical improvement with the Filter Media Replacement Project. This work addresses the plant’s five granular media filters, which play a vital role in removing sediment, manganese, iron, and other impurities to ensure clean, reliable drinking water.
To support the project, SGWASA partnered with engineering firm Hazen & Sawyer in March 2025 to provide analysis, design, bidding, and construction oversight services. The Board authorized the professional services contract at a cost of $245,080, one of many infrastructure reinvestments made by SGWASA.
During the September 24th Virtual Town Hall, Lamya Badr, PE, ENV SP of Hazen & Sawyer, offered an inside look at the program process. Her presentation explored the behind-the-scenes work driving the filter media replacement.
