Butner, NC - Progress is advancing on the I-85 Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project, with increased construction activity scheduled over the next two weeks in several high-traffic areas of Butner, NC and Creedmoor, NC.
Flaggers will be present near Joe Peed Road and West Middleton Drive, with a partial closure on 8th Street, and a full closure on A Street. A longer-duration closure is being scheduled for Central Avenue after July 4th, with details to be communicated as the schedule is finalized.

Work will include force main installation, gravity sewer activity, valve and electrical building improvements, odor-control preparation, wet well coating work, electrical ductbank installation, microtunnel-related pipe installation, and controlled blasting on West A Street.
🚧 Important Travel Notice for June 3
Pipeline work has progressed to East Lyon Station Road, and the contractor is scheduled to cross East Lyon Station Road from West Middleton Drive on June 3rd.
The crossing will require a temporary one-lane closure while crews complete the work. Traffic control will be in place, and drivers should anticipate brief delays, reduced travel speeds, and active construction near East Lyon Station Road and West Middleton Drive.
No planned water or sewer service interruptions are anticipated at this time.
