SGWASA’s I-85 Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project continues to move forward, with crews making steady progress in active work areas across the project corridor. Autry crews are continuing work on the East Lyon Station Road crossing, with plans to complete the crossing work by the end of Wednesday, July 8th. Paving is expected to follow on Thursday, July 9th.
On Central Avenue, pipeline installation will continue with the approved detour in place. Drivers are asked to follow posted detour signage and use I-85 Exit 191 when accessing the Town of Butner. Weekend work is planned in front of the Newton Manufacturing loading docks to help reduce weekday impacts in the area. The Central Avenue closure is currently scheduled from July 6th through August 10th.
The blasting schedule remains on hold, at this time.
