I-85 SSI Project Update: Middleton Drive

This week, JF Wilkerson (Haren Construction Company’s pipeline subcontractor) is expected to begin initial field activities along E. Middleton Drive and W. Middleton Drive, as early as tomorrow.
To support safe and efficient operations, two crews are anticipated to mobilize as follows:
Crew 1: Starting at the intersection of West Middleton Dr. and Will Suitt Rd., working east along West Middleton Drive
Crew 2: Starting at the East Middleton Lift Station, working west along East Middleton Drive
Work this week will focus on staging materials along the roadway and conducting soft utility digs to locate and verify existing underground utilities. Soft digs are a standard, lower-impact method used to help protect buried infrastructure before excavation begins.
Pipeline installation is planned to begin next week, pending field conditions and progress on utility locating.
Residents should expect active work zones, equipment along the roadside, and periodic lane or shoulder impacts as crews advance. Please use caution, reduce speed near workers, and follow all posted signage and flagging directions.
