Butner, NC. February 4, 2026 - Due to winter weather conditions and continued safety considerations for customers and team members traveling on area roads, the South Granville Water and Sewer Authority will operate on adjusted hours on Thursday, February 5, 2026.

SGWASA Business Office and Welcome Center

Open: 10:00 am to 5:00 pm

Date: February 5, 2026

Customers are encouraged to use caution when traveling and to allow extra time for road conditions that may change throughout the day, especially on bridges, shaded areas, and secondary roads.

Winter weather can create higher demand and increased stress on water systems, and it can also lead to household plumbing concerns such as frozen service lines or leaks. As temperatures remain low:

  • Unhook outdoor hoses from spigots to help prevent freezing and pipe damage.

  • Protect exposed pipes in crawlspaces, garages, and exterior walls with insulation or wraps.

  • Let indoor faucets drip slowly during the coldest hours to reduce the risk of freezing.

  • Know your shutoff valve location so you can act quickly if a pipe breaks.

  • Use space heaters safely and keep them away from water sources and cords.

SGWASA teams continue to monitor system conditions and will respond to water and sewer issues as safely and quickly as conditions allow.

For after-hours, weekend, or emergency reporting (water leaks, sewer backups, or urgent service concerns), please use the emergency contact information listed on our website:
