On the afternoon of July 15, 2025, representatives from SGWASA and CDM Smith met for the scheduled monthly progress meeting regarding the I-85 Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project. The session served as a strategic touchpoint between project engineers, contractors, and SGWASA leadership to review recent developments and plan forward-looking activities.

Representatives from CDM Smith met with SGWASA, Haren Construction, and associated contractors to review ongoing progress on the I-85 Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project.
Representatives from CDM Smith met with SGWASA, Haren Construction, and associated contractors to review ongoing progress on the I-85 Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project.

The team discussed job site access, coordination efforts, and safety/security protocols in place to ensure a secure working environment. Field observations were presented, including potential concerns or conditions that could impact project timelines.

Concrete shrinkage was a pivotal topic that the team is planning to research, based on potential heat waves and chiller capabilities to respond to them. With no giant pours planned, the concerns are minimal. The largest concrete pour is estimated to be 40 yards.

Submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), and the status of critical delivery items were reviewed to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
