Owning or managing a home can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when unexpected challenges arise. Few things are more frustrating than opening a water bill only to find it higher than expected because of a hidden leak.

To help ease that burden, SGWASA offers assistance through its Leak Adjustment Request Program for eligible accounts. The program allows eligible customers to apply for partial bill adjustment when leaks result in unusually high water usage. It is important to note that not all types of leaks qualify for adjustment.

An adjustment is not allowed for the following:

  • Water hoses or faucets unintentionally left running (unless accompanied by a police report)

  • Irrigation systems

  • Running toilets

  • Leaking faucets

  • Water-only accounts

  • Leak events totaling 5,000 gallons or less above the customer’s average usage.

If you discover a leak in your home, we invite you to apply for the one-time billing adjustment. This courtesy is offered once per calendar year for eligible customer accounts.

Contact our team with the first sign of any leak, discoloration, or unusual smells in your water. To do so, submit a Water Quality Questionnaire through SGWASA’s official site.

Once submitted, our utility team commits to responding rapidly, typically within hours, and will arrange an inspection to assess and address the issue (if it falls within the utility's service jurisdiction).

It is important to note that we can only assist if the concern has been formally reported via official SGWASA communication channels.
