June Board Meeting

Updated: Jul 8

The South Granville Water and Sewer Authority (SGWASA) June Board meeting provided valuable insights into the organization's ongoing projects, financial health, and discussion of the Fiscal Year objectives.

The Board discussed ongoing infrastructure project plans, including the upgrades to the water distribution system.

Richard Balmer, SGWASA's Finance Director, presented a review of the current Budget reports highlighting the Authority's stable financial position. The organization has consistently maintained a balanced budget and secured funding to support the upcoming CIP schedule.

The South Granville Water & Sewer Authority Board approved a modest rate adjustment for water and sewer services, effective July 1, 2024 at the start of FY24/25. This adjustment is necessary to cover the increasing costs of operations, maintenance, and future projects.

Mayor Linda Jordon's transition from the SGWASA Board was denoted with gratitude for her years of service and collaboration. Stepping into Mayor Jordon's role is newly appointed Judy Cheek, Butner Councilperson, sworn in on June 20th, 2024.
