As winter weather and freezing temperatures continue, customers are encouraged to take the following precautions to help protect plumbing and reduce the risk of frozen or burst pipes:
Keep indoor heat at a consistent temperature, including overnight.
Open cabinet doors under sinks to allow warm air to circulate around indoor plumbing.
Disconnect and drain outdoor hoses and insulate exposed outdoor spigots.
Allow a small, steady drip from indoor faucets during periods of extreme cold, especially on exterior walls.
Know the location of your main water shutoff valve in case of an emergency.
