Butner, NC. August 27, 2024 - The South Granville Water & Sewer Authority (SGWASA) partnered with CDM Smith to host the I-85 Sanitary Sewer Project Pre-Bid Meeting, which was mandatory for potential bidders.Â
The meeting introduced the project to prospective bidders and fielded questions regarding the project. This critical infrastructure initiative will address long-standing concerns regarding the county's aging sewer system. Following a comprehensive evaluation completed in 2019, SGWASA identified the need for improvements to the I-85 Sanitary Sewer System.
The Project will revitalize the infrastructural system and equip the county, region, and state to support projected growth with technology and equipment built to sustain environmental and populous changes expected. This pivotal project attracted the attention of contractors representing various regions.
The I-85 Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project will be primarily funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), administered by the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) Department of Water Infrastructure (DWI).
