Current Project Report Summary
SGWASA continues to advance a collective suite of engineering projects focused on water quality, wastewater capacity, treatment reliability, and long-term infrastructure planning. PFAS mitigation remains a central priority, with engineering design underway and Phase 2 pilot testing moving forward to support future treatment improvements and regulatory readiness. The I-85 Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project sewer improvements are designed to strengthen wastewater system capacity and support continued service reliability across critical growth areas.

Additional engineering work is underway across the water system, including the replacement of aging water meters in the Creedmoor service area, continued rebuilding of the Water Treatment Plant filters, and advancement of water quality modeling, flushing program development, booster station assessments, and control system evaluations.

SGWASA has completed design work for the Water Treatment Plant valve replacement project, while water and wastewater infrastructure assessment efforts continue to support better asset tracking, condition evaluation, and long-range capital planning. Together, these projects represent a coordinated engineering effort to modernize infrastructure, improve system performance, and prepare SGWASA for future regulatory and operational demands.
