Current Project Report Summary
The reports outlined in SGWASA’s engineering project portfolio focus on advancing capital improvements, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness to support reliable service and long-term capacity. The February 2026 Executive Director’s Monthly Project Update confirms that major initiatives remain on schedule, including PFAS Mitigation (Phase 2 pilot work underway and design/bidding advancing), the I-85 Sanitary Sewer System Improvements (CP#1 and CP#2 continuing with the Southern Interceptor proceeding and the Northern Interceptor deferred pending further funding discussion), Lead & Copper Rule compliance activities, and the Creedmoor service area Water Meter Replacement Program (targeted for completion by July 1, 2026).

The report also notes continued progress on the financial software upgrade and water treatment plant filter media replacement, alongside active AIA grant-funded assessment work for both water and wastewater systems. Operationally, February included several system issues that were addressed while maintaining service continuity.
