Funding:

SGWASA Water Meter Replacement (Creedmoor service area)

City of Creedmoor and Service Area

SGWASA manages approximately 6,600 water meters across its entire service area. In recent years, the utility identified a need to modernize its metering infrastructure by replacing outdated meters with newer, more accurate models. This effort includes the SGWASA/City of Creedmoor service area, which contains about 2,200 meters, many of which are aging and no longer performing optimally. To address this efficiently and cost-effectively, SGWASA opted to contract a specialized firm with expertise in water meter replacement and system upgrades. This initiative is part of SGWASA’s Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), listed as Project ID# 102-05, with a total project budget of $1,000,000.

All new water meters and associated hardware are currently in stock at SGWASA and ready for installation. The water meter replacement project will begin in January 2026 and be completed before July 2026.
