Crossing Begins at Central Avenue

CP-1 Updates
Haren staff are continuing pipe installation at the Joe Peed site. JFW teams are continuing sewer line installation along Joe Peed Road, while Autry continues force main installation activities at the East Lyon Station Road crossing.

CP-2 Updates
Park Construction is continuing installation of the 36-inch fiberglass-reinforced pipe (FRP) on A Street as crews advance the crossing at Central Avenue.

TPT Coatings continue onsite application of protective coatings to manholes located along the receiving pit access road.


Traffic Impacts
The Central Avenue closure begins today, Monday, July 6, 2026, at 9:00 AM and supports ongoing sewer improvement work in the area. The closure is expected to remain in place for up to 30 days; however, SGWASA contractors will reopen the street as soon as possible during that period.

Detour signs are posted on local streets throughout the project area and along I-85 to guide motorists through the detour route. Drivers are advised to use I-85 Exit 191 to access the Town of Butner during the closure.

Customers, residents, and motorists near the work area should expect temporary traffic adjustments, construction equipment, and increased construction activity near Central Avenue and A Street.
