Norfolk Southern Railroad Bore Launch Pit Excavation Moves Forward

CP-1 Updates
Haren is working at the Joe Peed lift station. Along Joe Peed Road, JF Wilkerson is installing sewer line while Autry performs sewer force main work.

CP-2 Updates
Park crews are addressing failed compaction areas on Laundry Avenue and Railroad Avenue. Crews are also performing air gap and heave removal on 8th Street.

ASD is onsite for paving operations on Railroad Avenue. Young Construction has a limited crew onsite while replacement cutting discs are expected this week. The arrival date remains to be determined. Once the cutting discs are installed, boring operations will resume.

A second Young Construction crew began excavation yesterday for the Norfolk Southern Railroad bore launch pit and is continuing that work today.

Carolina Drilling is scheduled to conduct two controlled blasts today on 8th Street at 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
