I-85 Microtunnel Boring Resumes After Equipment Repairs

CP-1 Updates
Haren is performing work at the Joe Peed lift station. Along Joe Peed Road, JF Wilkerson is installing sewer line while Autry performs sewer force main work.

CP-2 Updates
Park crews are addressing failed compaction areas on Laundry Avenue and Railroad Avenue; and are also working on air gap and heave removal on 8th Street. ASD is onsite for paving operations on Railroad Avenue and Laundry Avenue.

Young Construction completed repairs to the tunnel boring machine equipment and tested its functionality late yesterday. I-85 microtunnel boring resumes today. A second crew is advancing Norfolk Southern Railroad bore launch pit excavation activities. Carolina Drilling is onsite conducting equipment maintenance. No blasting is scheduled today.

Weekend Work Reminder
Park is scheduled to work this weekend around the Newton Manufacturing facility park area. Planned activities include manhole pre-testing and site housekeeping.
