Water service will be temporarily interrupted on Aug 21st for customers near the intersection of West C and 8th Streets in Butner. This interruption is necessary to repair leaks that have developed on two valves in the system.

On Monday, July 28, 2025 at 9:00 AM, SGWASA utility crews will remove a faulty water valve located in the 300 Block of 23rd Street in Butner, NC as part of ongoing efforts to enhance water pressure and quality in the area.
The existing valve was found to be damaged, with a visible crack that worsened following recent maintenance efforts. To prevent further complications and ensure reliable service, the valve must be replaced.
Water service in the affected area will be temporarily interrupted for approximately one hour, or less if conditions allow. Crews are prepared to minimize downtime and ensure a smooth transition.
We appreciate the patience and understanding of affected customers as we work to improve infrastructure reliability and water quality on 23rd Street.
