All Construction Sites

April 28, 2026

Please be advised that noise disruptions may occur during the blasting and construction activities. Work may begin as early as 7:00 AM. Traffic impacts should be expected on multiple streets within the construction area, primarily associated with deliveries, blasting activity, and excavation operations.

Crews will continue work near Will Suitt Road, the launching pit, the railroad crossing, the Joe Peed Lift Station site, West Middleton Drive, and East Middleton Drive. Park Construction is crossing Will Suitt Road this week before remobilizing to the launching pit. Carolina Drilling will continue controlled blasting from the launching pit toward the railroad crossing and will move to A Street, once that work is complete.

JF Wilkerson crews will continue force main installation and related site work. This includes beginning the 20-inch force main at the Joe Peed Lift Station site, continuing installation of the 24-inch combined force main along West Middleton Drive, potholing existing utilities, coordinating driveway crossings, and completing site grading on East Middleton Drive.

Motorists should expect temporary traffic adjustments in active work zones, including flagging operations as needed. Anticipated impacts include partial closures or traffic adjustments along Will Suitt Road, 8th Street, West Middleton Drive, and Joe Peed Road. A full closure of Will Suitt Road at Longwood is scheduled from April 27 through May 1.

No planned water or sewer service interruptions are anticipated at this time.

Project Notes: I-85 SSI Project crews are planning construction activity focused near the Joe Peed Lift Station site, Joe Peed Road, West Middleton Drive, and East Middleton Drive areas of the project area over the upcoming weeks. No planned service impacts are anticipated; The May 1st week’s planned work includes the Joe Peed Road force main crossing and continued utility potholing and driveway crossings along West Middleton Drive.
