Water Shortage Plan Ordinance

The South Granville Water and Sewer Authority maintains a Water Shortage Response Plan Ordinance establishing procedures for managing drinking water supplies during periods of drought, reduced reservoir levels, and other conditions affecting water availability.

The ordinance establishes five response stages, ranging from voluntary conservation measures to mandatory water-use restrictions, emergency reductions, and water rationing. Each stage identifies conservation requirements, water-use limitations, and applicable enforcement measures based on established water supply conditions.

The plan also outlines responsibilities for activating water shortage measures, notifying customers, monitoring conservation efforts, and evaluating the effectiveness of implemented restrictions. These provisions support responsible water resource management, protect essential drinking water supplies, and help maintain public health and safety during periods of limited water availability.
