Cross Connection (Backflow) Ordinance

The South Granville Water and Sewer Authority maintains a Cross-Connection Control Ordinance establishing requirements to protect the public drinking water supply from potential contamination caused by backflow and unauthorized cross-connections.

The ordinance defines responsibilities for SGWASA, property owners, customers, installers, and certified backflow prevention assembly testers. It establishes requirements for approved backflow prevention equipment, installation, inspections, annual testing, maintenance, record keeping, and regulatory compliance.
These measures help protect drinking water quality by preventing contaminants from entering the public water distribution system.

The ordinance also establishes enforcement procedures to address noncompliance and safeguard public health and the integrity of SGWASA's water infrastructure.
