Recurring leaks and valve failures along the water main between the clearwell and finished-water pumps at SGWASA’s Water Treatment Plant highlighted erosion concerns and the need for improved bypass capability and system redundancy.
Hazen and Sawyer completed the evaluation of repair alternatives and preparation of design, permitting, and bidding documents. Evaluation and design costs totaled $155,980, with an estimated construction cost of $710,000.
As of October 2026, design was 100% complete. Construction remained on hold pending coordination with the updated Capital Improvement Plan, with public bidding planned for 2026.
