I-85 Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project
CP1 - $34M CP2 - $30.24M (NTE award)
Budget:
CP1 - Increase wastewater system capacity through new pump stations and pipeline installation supporting long-term service reliability.
CP2 - Deliver the Southern Interceptor sewer construction package while managing funding and sequencing constraints.
Current Project Report Summary
The December 2025 project report provides a high-level snapshot of SGWASA’s capital and compliance priorities, confirming that major initiatives remain on track with no material operational disruptions during the reporting period.
Key focus areas include continued advancement of PFAS planning and treatment design, steady progress on the I-85 Sanitary Sewer Improvements, and ongoing implementation activities tied to EPA Lead & Copper Rule Revisions. The report also highlights continued modernization and operational readiness efforts, such as systemwide meter replacement planning, financial system enhancements, and active water treatment plant improvements, alongside continued progress on grant-funded asset inventory work and broader long-range facility planning.
