La Autoridad de Agua y Alcantarillado de South Granville se asoció con los expertos en ingeniería CDM Smith para llevar a cabo el Proyecto de Mejora del Alcantarillado Sanitario I-85.

8th Street Blasting and Asphalt Repairs Scheduled Today
CP-1 Updates
Haren is advancing work at the Joe Peed lift station. Along Joe Peed Road, JF Wilkerson is installing sewer line while Autry performs sewer force main work.
CP-2 Updates
Park is excavating on A Street. Young Construction has a limited crew onsite. Replacement cutting discs are expected to arrive this week, with the date to be determined. Once installed, boring operations will resume.
Carolina Drilling is scheduled to conduct two controlled blasts today on 8th Street at 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
ASD is onsite completing full-depth asphalt repairs in areas affected by work on A Street, Laundry Avenue, 19th Street, and 22nd Street.
Today’s I-85 SSI Project work includes activity at the Joe Peed lift station, sewer line and sewer force main work along Joe Peed Road, excavation on A Street, two scheduled blasts on 8th Street, and full-depth asphalt repairs in areas affected by prior construction. Young Construction has a limited crew onsite while replacement cutting discs are expected this week; boring operations will resume after the discs arrive and are installed.

Motorists should prepare for construction-related traffic changes throughout the I-85 SSI project area. Full closures are anticipated on Laundry Avenue, Railroad Avenue and 11th Street. An additional full closure of 8th Street is scheduled to begin Wednesday, September 2.
Periodic flagging operations and lane closures will also be used along Joe Peed Road near the new lift station and force-main work areas. Drivers should allow additional travel time, avoid closed work areas when possible and follow all posted signs and directions from traffic-control personnel.
A controlled test blast is scheduled for 8th Street on Thursday, September 3. Blasting on 11th Street is anticipated as early as Monday, September 7; however, the broader blasting schedule remains on hold and the 11th Street timing is not yet confirmed. SGWASA will provide confirmed blasting information as it becomes available.
No service interruptions are anticipated.
