Proyecto SSI I-85
La Autoridad de Agua y Alcantarillado de South Granville se asoció con los expertos en ingeniería CDM Smith para llevar a cabo el Proyecto de Mejora del Alcantarillado Sanitario I-85.
Este proyecto reemplazará materiales obsoletos para mantener una infraestructura que satisfaga las demandas de capacidad presentes y futuras del condado de Granville.

A Street Pipe Laying Moves Ahead with 8th Street Blasting Scheduled
CP-1 Updates
Haren is working at the Joe Peed lift station.
Along Joe Peed Road, JF Wilkerson is installing sewer line while Autry performs sewer force main work.
CP-2 Updates
Park is moving forward with pipe laying activities on A Street, and is also addressing air gap and heave removal on 8th Street. Young Construction is advancing I-85 microtunnel boring.
A second Young Construction crew is performing Norfolk Southern Railroad boring activities. Carolina Drilling is scheduled to conduct two controlled blasts today on 8th Street at 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
A Street remains in active pipe installation while 8th Street carries several coordinated field activities, including air gap work, heave removal, and two scheduled controlled blasts.
Work also remains active at the Joe Peed lift station, along Joe Peed Road, within the I-85 microtunnel area, and within the Norfolk Southern Railroad boring work zone.

The next work sequence shifts attention toward A Street, 8th Street, C Street, and continued trenchless construction preparation.
Park Construction is moving to A Street to continue pipe installation from Mount Hope toward B Street. Crews plan to move to 8th Street by the middle of next week.
C Street is expected to close beginning September 15, 2026, based on the anticipated construction sequence. NCDOT inspection has been requested for September 14. Both 8th Street and C Street are expected to be closed for blasting and pipe-laying operations.
Park is also planning limited Saturday work (9/12) for pre-vacuum testing of manholes and shoulder cleanup following recent paving.
The Norfolk Southern Railroad bore pit excavation has begun. Replacement cutters for the I-85 microtunnel are expected to arrive this week, with boring operations to resume after installation.
Joe Peed Road work remains active, with gravity sewer and 20-inch force main activities continuing. Motorists should expect flagging and lane closures as needed near the work area.
Anticipated Traffic Impacts: 8th Street and C Street closures; traffic controls near Joe Peed Road; Railroad Avenue paving activity.
