LEAD WATER TREATMENT OPERATOR

SOUTH GRANVILLE WATER AND SEWER AUTHORITY (SGWASA)

 

SGWASA is a unit of local government operating a water and sewer system located in southern Granville County.  SGWASA has an opening for a Lead Water Treatment Operator with a salary range of $36,311.00 to $53,740.00.  The desired applicant will be responsible for supervising the total operation of the water treatment plant for the Authority. Work involves supervision over laboratory, maintenance, and operational staff, purchasing parts and supplies, distributing and reviewing work, and personnel management duties including hiring, performance evaluation, coaching, and safety.  As well as, assisting the Chief Plant Operator as backup ORC, the employee is responsible to the State and EPA for compliance with rules and regulations.  Desired education and experience would be graduation from a two year college with a major in chemistry, biology, or major related to water treatment and considerable experience in the operation of a water treatment plant with some supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Possession of a Grade B Surface Water treatment operator's certificate from the State of North Carolina.  Also Certification at a Grade I Physical/Chemical water pollution control system by the State of North Carolina or must be able to obtain within 18 months.

CHIEF WASTEWATER TREATMENT OPERATOR

SOUTH GRANVILLE WATER AND SEWER AUTHORITY (SGWASA)

 

SGWASA is a unit of local government operating a water and sewer system located in southern Granville County.  SGWASA has an opening for a Chief Wastewater Treatment Operator with a salary range of $42,454.00 to $62,834.00.  The desired applicant will be responsible for organizing and directing the operations and maintenance of wastewater treatment plant, related facilities and equipment, and serves as ORC.  Work involves responsibility for division staffing, budget development and administration, assistance with and advising the Public Utilities Director with long range planning for facilities and system capacity and technical compliance needs, establishing and maintaining records and reports necessary for full compliance with all regulations and for effective management decision making, and insuring effective productivity of department personnel.  Desirable education would be graduation from two year college with a degree in chemistry, biology, environmental sciences, or related field and considerable experience supervising wastewater treatment systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Possession of a Grade IV Wastewater treatment operator's certificate from the State of North Carolina is required.  Applicant should fill out a SGWASA Employment Application and submit it to SGWASA Utilities Director, 211 West C Street, Butner, NC  27509.  Employment application can be obtained at 211 West C Street, Butner or online at www.sgwasa.org.   Closing date: OPEN UNTIL FILLED.
